The THYRO-Check\u00ae is a manual qualitative immunochromatographic screening test for the detection of increased TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) level in finger prick whole blood sample. It can be used at home by lay users for self-testing for the detection of possible hypothyroidism.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Thyroid disorders are one of the most prevalent medical conditions in the world, particularly for women, with an increasing rate of the population suffering under active thyroid (hypothyroidism).
The symptoms of hypothyroidism include feeling tired and lethargic, weight gain, dry skin and brittle hair, becoming forgetful and sometimes depressed, feeling cold and enduring constipation as well as menstrual irregularities in women.
Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), which is secreted by pituitary, regulates and controls the activity of the thyroid gland. Therefore, a raised TSH level indicates an under active thyroid and this is the principle on which Thyro-Check\u00ae is based for the detection of the hypothyroidism condition.<\/p>

Caution: THYRO-Check\u00ae should not be performed in case of hormonal thyroid medical treatment.<\/strong>
In early pregnancy, the level of TSH is generally lowered and therefore could lead to underestimated result.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Prepare everything properly before starting the testing procedure. Place the content of the box on a clean, dry and flat surface (e.g. table). Then perform the test as follows:<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.<\/strong> Use soap and warm water. Dry your hand with clean towel.<\/li>
  2. Prepare the test device and capillary pipette:<\/strong> Take them out from the protective pouch (tear at the notch) and place them in the reach of your hands (you will need them later). Discard the desiccant bag.<\/li>
  3. Prepare the lancet.<\/strong> Hold the lancet without touching the trigger button. Unlock the cap twisting it off \u00bc turn until you feel it separates from the lancet and then continue twisting it (2-3 rotations). Don\u2019t pull just twist and discard the cap when finished. \u2460\u2461<\/li>
  4. Clean the end of the middle or ring finger<\/strong> with cotton damped with alcohol. Massage the chosen finger towards the tip for 10 to 15 seconds to enhance the blood flow.<\/li>
  5. Prick the finger:<\/strong> put the lancet firmly against the side of the previously cleaned finger, and press the release trigger button.\u2462 The lancet will automatically retract into the body of the device. Gently massage the finger to create a nice round blood droplet.\u2463<\/li>
  6. Collect the blood with the capillary pipette:<\/strong> Gently touch the blood droplet with the open end of the capillary pipette. It must be filled until the line indicated on the capillary pipette. Do not press the bulb, it fills by itself. Make another blood droplet if the line is not reached. As far as possible, avoid air bubbles. \u2464<\/li>
  7. Put the blood collected with the pipette into the sample well<\/strong> of the device, by pressing on the pipette bulb. \u2465<\/li>
  8. Wait 30-40 sec<\/strong> for the blood being totally absorbed into the sample well.<\/li>
  9. Add the diluent:<\/strong> Unscrew the blue cap of the diluent dropper vial (leave the white cap tightly screwed) and add the diluent as follows: Hold the diluent dropper vial vertically and slowly add exactly 4 drops<\/strong> in the sample well of the device with an interval of 2-3 seconds between each drop. \u2466<\/li>
  10. Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret after 15 minutes.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
