Step 1 : Prepare your environment
Before starting the test, ensure you have a clear, clutter-free space on a table. Gather all necessary items: the meter, test strips, safety lancet, and capillary.ean your finger with an alcohol wipe before pricking it, and consider using a small plaster afterward
Step 2 : Insert chip and code chip
Find and insert the code chip from the box into the meter. Ensure you insert the code chip into the side of the meter and verify that the number on the chip matches the number on the test strip sachet. Open the sachet, insert the test strip correctly, and wait for the blinking indicators on the meter.
Step 3 : Clean and prick your finger. Always wipe off the first drop of blood
Prepare to prick your finger by using an alcohol wipe to clean it, ensuring it’s dry. Remove the top of the safety lancet and press it against your finger until it clicks. Wipe away the first blood droplet and collect the second droplet for the test.
Step 4 : Sample the blood droplets until they reach the black line and deposit them onto the strip
Collect a nice droplet of blood, then use the capillary to gather blood between your finger and thumb until it reaches the black line. You may need two or three droplets, ensuring they don’t spread on your finger. Once filled to the line, transfer the blood to the meter by pressing the pipette in one squeeze into the strip
